مرسی از این که بیانیه «نه شاه، نه شیخ؛ نه به هرگونه دیکتاتوری و وابستگی» را امضا کردی. بیش از ۱۰۰۰ نفر مثل تو این پیام قدرتمند را دادند که مردم ایران شاه و شیخ نمی‌خواهند و دنبال آزادی و حاکمیت مردم هستند.

گاهی یک اقدام کوچک، اثری بسیار بزرگ‌تر از آنچه تصور می‌کنیم بر جای می‌گذارد. امضای تو بخشی از یک تلاش جمعی بود که توانست یک موضع سیاسی مهم را به شکلی شفاف و مؤثر مطرح کند.

در یک کنفرانس مطبوعاتی در بروکسل، این بیانیه اعلام شد و انعکاس گسترده‌ای در میان خبرنگاران حاضر و به‌خصوص ایرانیان پیدا کرد.
